How Do Birds Fly?

Birds can fly because their bodies are built for it. Their bones are hollow, which makes them very light. Their feathers are shaped to push air downward, which lifts them up. A bird flaps its wings to get moving, and then it can glide on the wind. Some birds, like the albatross, can fly for hours without flapping at all!
